Abhyangam

Abhyangam is an Ayurvedic massage therapy that is performed to soothe your body, mind, immune system, and skin. Abhyangam is performed using herbal powder, oil and ghee or herbal pastes. During massage therapy, your body is massaged in the direction in which your blood from your arteries flows, basically in the direction of the body hair. The massage strokes are believed to increase skin blood flow, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, cellulite, and scars, improve skin smoothness and softness, and decrease hyperpigmentation.

Udwarthanam

Udwarthanam is a special therapeutic deep tissue massage for weight loss. Udwarthanam is performed using herbal powders. This massage involves upward stroking, where the powder is rubbed forcibly on the body. It is useful for decreasing surplus body fat and increasing the stability of the extremities. Classical treatises on Ayurveda explain this procedure as a daily routine.

Swedanam

Swedana is a steam treatment explained in Ayurvedic medical science. The word Sweda is derived from the Sanskrit swid, meaning "to sweat or to perspire". Swedana is the process of inducing sweat through the use of steam produced by medicated herbal decoctions. Swedana helps in detoxification and re-establishing the balance between Vata, Pitta, and Kapha in the body. It is the pre-operative procedure in various Ayurvedic detox therapies where the objective is to dilate the channels of the body to detach the toxins from the tissues. This therapy is thought to relieve muscular tension, restore flexibility, clear energy passages, detoxify the body, and help with muscular inflammation, hypertension, blood pressure, and circulation.

Vasti

Vasti is one treatment among the five main Panchakarmas. Vasti therapy involves enema of herbal substances such as oils or herb decoctions, administered as a detoxification and rejuvenation therapy. Vasti is considered as ‘Ardha Chikitsa', meaning half of the treatment. Almost in all conditions,there is vata involvement, and the best chikitsa for vata is vasti . Matravasti, Vaitarana vasti, Erandamooladi kashaya vasti, Yapana vasti, etc. are some of the types of vastis selected judiciously.

Agni Karma

According to Ayurveda, Agnikarma is a superior para-surgical procedure. Agnikarma is a thermal and minimally invasive procedure that induces controlled, pointed, and therapeutic burns over the regions that are tender or painful. This procedure aims at the management of various afflictions like tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, calcaneal spur etc. by inflicting burns on the tissue surface. Agnikarma uses Panchaloha Salaka (tools of cauterization).

Kshara Karma

Kshara is caustic and alkaline in nature, obtained from the ashes of medicinal plants. It is a milder procedure compared to surgery and thermal cautery. It is the most superior of the sharp and subsidiary instruments because of its ability to perform excision, incision, and scraping. It is versatile because it is minimally invasive without any side effects, and the chance of recurrence is very minimal. Kshara Karma is used effectively in anal disorders.

Virechana (Medicated Purgation)

Virechana is one of the Panchakarma therapies wherein purgation is induced by drugs, and it specifically aims at the elimination of excessive Pitta Dosha from the body . After proper oleation and sudation, Virechana is performed to remove the doshas. Virechana Karma, mentioned in the Charaka Samhita, is known to be the best cure for treating diseases emerging from vitiation of the pitta dosha. Virechana cleanses blood toxins, the sweat glands, kidneys, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, spleen, and rakta vaha srotas.

Vamana (Medicated Emesis)

Vamana is one of the five therapies of Panchakarma in Ayurveda. This treatment is done for the aggravated kapha dosha and dislodges the toxins mainly from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. This therapy is done for preventive and curative purposes. It is highly beneficial for psychological disorders and conditions affecting the mind.
